Self Defence

One of the best reasons for anyone to get into Taekwondo is the ability to be able to defend themselves should the need arise.  As part of the British Taekwondo syllabus, all students are taught self defence techniques that are appropriate to their grade, how to avoid, diffuse and defend at different levels of confrontation.  As the students advance further in their Taekwondo journey, they will learn how to defend against attacks from various weapons including knives, bottles and sticks.

Through the use of three step and one step sparring exercises, students are taught how to defend against an attack and retaliate with various strikes, which when practised often, becomes ingrained as a natural response.
