Form (Poomse)

Form or poomse, is a collection of pre-arranged Taekwondo moves, consisting of blocks, strikes and kicks to defend and attack an invisible opponent.

There are 8 Taegeuk patterns, each designed to teach and aid in the fluid transition from one move to the next.  Poomse is included as part of the grading process from yellow belt onwards, up to red belt/black tags.  For black belt gradings, there are a further 8 forms, one for each DAN grading.
