Black Belt Grading Sat 8th May 2010

On Sat 8th may, Yom Chi WTF Taekwondo sent two students to the BTCB Black Belt promotion Grading at Manor Sports in Mansfield.

After a morning Seminar taken by Master Steeper, Master Guest, Master Lennox, Master Mckenzie and Master Tranter, the Black Belt promotion tests began. Each black belt candidate had to prove his or her worth in three distinct areas.

Firstly each candidiate had to display their knowlegde of the technical aspects of Taekwondo through the display of pre arranged movements called Poomse (patterns). The candidates can be called upon to perform any three or four of 9 poomse.

This was followed by the destruction part of the grading proving the candidate can apply the technical aspects with force.

Finally candidates were asked to display actual ability through 1 step sparring, self defence, 1 for 1 kicking and full sparring.

After a full afternoon, I am really pleased to annouce that Yom Chi has 100% success rate at a Black Belt Grading and we welcome having a new Black Belt and a new Junior Black Belt in the club
